Somebody to Love – A Dance Celebration to the music of Queen

THE legendary music of QUEEN performed by three singers and four musicians showcases a sleek, seductive celebration of love featuring the applauded dancers of Mzansi Productions at Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre from 8 to 13 September.

Eighteen of QUEEN’s greatest songs

Eighteen of QUEEN’s greatest songs have been especially arranged for this production by DuPreez Strauss for the musicians who share the stage with the dancers.

In Somebody to Love – A Dance Celebration to the Music of Queen, acclaimed choreographers Debbie Rakusin (African Footprint) and Timothy Le Roux explore facets of relationships in an elegant and sophisticated show brimming with atmosphere, ambience and superlative entertainment.

Debbie Rakusin’s choreography credits include the closing ceremony of the 1995 Rugby World Cup, the opening ceremony of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003, Nelson Mandela's 85th birthday celebrations and several hit shows, among them The Wiz, The Boyfriend, Ipi Tombi, Little Shop of Horrors and the internationally acclaimed African Footprint.

Trained in both dance and drama, Timothy Le Roux has worked with the PACT Dance Company, Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative, Playhouse Dance Company, Free Flight Dance Company, Fantastic Flying Fish Dance Company, Vusa Dance and Wilda Dance in Copenhagen.

In addition to extensive work as a corporate choreographer, his credits include Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair as well as several pantomimes.
