Lindsay Lohan’s latest court ensemble

Lindsay Lohan’s latest court ensemble

Lindsay Lohan has had more brushes with the law, than Hugh Hefner has had girlfriends, and for the first time, she chose to show up in semi-appropriate attire at her court appointment.

Her pure white outfit screamed, “I’m innocent” and the lack of skin on show was a more subtle approach than she has used previously. Read on for how to steal Lindsay’s look, and nope, this theft is not a crime punishable by law!

It’s all about the money, money, money!

Li-Lo’s court outfit was appropriate in colour and modesty, although the price tag was probably highly inappropriate. The entire outfit cost about R72 000, and flashing labels in court will probably not garner pity from the judge or jury. The labels she wore included a Fendi dress, Guiseppe Zanotti heels and a Chanel purse.

The dress

Lindsay wore a Fendi dress with a high neck and cutaway sleeves. It was fitted on the chest, nipped in with a waist band and the skirt flared out with pleats to just above the knee. The dress had a pale grey / beige band along the hem, to add a bit of colour, to an all white outfit.
White dresses are a great way to achieve effortless chic, especially in these warmer spring months.

The shoes

Lindsay chose to wear gold peep-toe pumps with her innocent ensemble. I feel she should have gone for something more muted in court, but, these shoes would be a great choice for a smarter day event. If you don’t like gold, silver or nude heels would be a great option. Don’t forget, nude heels will elongate your legs, so, if you’re on the short side, go for nude!

The bag

Lohan went for a light gold Chanel handbag for her court appearance, not matching her heels, but close enough to look well pulled together. If you are going with gold, silver or nude heels, the easiest would be to match your bag to that. You can always experiment with contrasting colours, but make sure they work with the outfit as a whole, since the base colour of the entire outfit is white.

The scarf

Li-Lo’s scarf was well placed, hiding her chest area, and making her look a little more modest than usual. Add a scarf of light, floaty fabric to an outfit like this as it can keep your warm on cooler days, and might be more appropriate for occasions where cleavage is not appropriate.

Makeup

I feel Lindsay was a bit heavy-handed with the bronzer brush, and this only exaggerates her pale skin. Go for soft, natural makeup to work with the innocence of an almost all-white outfit. And, like Li-Lo, if you wear a scarf, your hair will look best tied up, as you already have a lot of fabric hanging around your neck.
