Product of the week: Clinique Chubby Stick

Product of the week: Clinique Chubby Stick

This award-winning lipstick-come-balm is my new favourite product - read all about the Clinique Chubby Stick here...

Last week Sasha introduced you to our new weekly column, the All4Women editors' Product of the week - our opportunity to share with you great health, food, beauty and other finds we've tried and tested ourselves.

My pick for this week is Clinique's Chubby Stick

The Chubby Stick recently won big at the prestigious Marie Claire Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté Best of Beauty and skincare Awards 2012. This lip colour balm won the award for Makeup Category winner and best lipstick balm for 2012.

When I learned about this I just had to try it out, and the lovely ladies at Clinique promptly sent me one in several colours!

As someone who hates the feeling of lipstick, the Chubby Stick is a great way for me to add some colour to my lips without that feeling. The stick delivers an impressive tint of colour to the lips, but feels just like a lovely, moisturising lip balm.

The stick is unscented and not sticky at all

The effect is such that it looks like you're not wearing any product at all, but if you wanted a bit of shine, you could easily apply a clear gloss over the colour as well.

Just to give you an idea of the intensity of the colours, I swiped some on my hand (sorry it's a little blurry! It's surprisingly hard to photograph your own hand):

From top: chunky cherry, woppin' watermelon, mega melon and whole lotta honey

At the moment I'm keeping whole lotta honey in my handbag at all times as it's a great, natural-looking match for my own lips, plus it's really easy to apply on the go (if I do it carefully I can get away without a mirror as well!).

I love, love, love this product - will definitely buy it again when it runs out.

Chubby Stick costs R175 at Clinique counters at selected department stores.
