Cinderella on ice returns to South African shores, as Pieter Toerien presents the Imperial Ice Stars in this, their third spectacular stage musical production. Cinderella on Ice can be seen at The Teatro at Montecasino, Johannesburg and Artscape Opera, Cape Town. More than two million people across five continents have been swept off their feet by The Imperial Ice Stars' adrenaline-infused performances.

The last two Imperial Ice Stars' stage musical productions in South Africa - SWAN LAKE ON ICE and SLEEPING BEAUTY ON ICE - astonished audiences, and the unique concept of an ice rink on stage fired their imagination. CINDERELLA ON ICE will be as athletic, as astounding, as adept, as beautiful and as enchanting as the last two stage musical shows, with all the intrigue of the original story brought to life in a way not seen before in South Africa.

A little aside about how the ice is made.

A question that is often asked is whether the rink is actually made of real ice? Well, be assured it is. In fact there is approximately 14 tonnes of it on the stage and, hidden beneath the surface, over 10 miles of pipe work and a few buckets of sweat, all at a working temperature of minus 15 degrees. Once the rink is completed, the surface temperature is constantly monitored day and night throughout our stay at the theatre. In addition to this, during the interval and after each performance of the show, the surface is scraped and resurfaced with hot water to keep it as smooth as possible.
