There’s nothing hotter than a sexy pout! After all who can resist a set of kissable, soft lips? Get luscious lips now with these easy tricks.
There are a range of tips and tricks to highlight your lips and give you that sexy bee-stung look without resorting to fillers and collagen. Accentuate your mouth the easy way!
Work with what you have
One of the biggest mistakes women make is lining outside their natural lip line in a bid to make their lips look plumper. Don’t do it ladies! Rather work with your mouth’s natural outline.
Deliciously smooth and luscious lips
The trick to keeping your lips feeling smooth and soft is two-fold: exfoliation and moisturising. Try this old-age method once a week – it definitely works a treat!
- Brush your lips gently with a soft toothbrush (try a baby’s toothbrush if your lips are super sensitive).
- Try and aim for a circular motion as this helps slough off most of the dead cells.
- Apply a good lip balm on your lips.
Keep fine lines at bay
If you’re a fan of smoking or pouting or hanging out in the sun, you may notice fine lines and wrinkles around your lip area. Keep these at bay with a good anti-aging product and a lip treatment like Decleor Hydra Floral Eye and Lip Moisturising Mask.
Colour concerns: Pick the right shade
The easiest rule to work with is to choose a shade that’s closely matched to your natural lip colour. If you want a more outrageous look go for colours that look good with your skin tone and make your teeth appear whiter.
For instance, darker skins should go for colours with blue undertones. Medium skins should go for colours with orange undertones and fair skins pink undertones.
Choosing your best formula
Apart from colour concerns, you need to choose the right formula. For example, thin lips look more luscious with a coat of lipgloss on them while larger lips benefit from a more matte shade. Also remember that if your lips are prone to drying out you need to opt for a moisturising formula.
Uneven or darker lip colour
To beat this problem smooth some foundation over your mouth. This helps the lipstick “stick” better. Then line along the natural outline of your mouth in a lipliner that emulates your skin tone and follow with your lipstick.
For a longer lasting look
Apply your lipstick, blot your lips and then reapply. This will lengthen time between touch-ups and allow for a longer-lasting effect.
Cheat your way to plumper lips
- Add some gloss to the centre of your lips
- Try a lip-plumping mask
- Add a touch of iridescent eyeshadow or powder over your lipstick. The particles will reflect light giving you a more luscious look.
- Go for gloss! Gloss in lighter shades makes your lips appear larger.
- Choose lighter shades, dark colours make your lips appear even smaller.
