Oh no! B.O!

Body odour has two really fancy names - bromhidrosis or osminidrosis!

This unpleasant condition is most commonly caused by excessive sweating.

Although the sweat itself is odourless it attracts bacteria which causes the smell.

Nowadays there is far less excuse to have body odour because there are many deodorants and anti-perspirants on the market that counter b.o.

BUT some of these can cause itching and swelling, so professional help is a good idea.

The primary rule for eliminating these offensive smells is to wash well.

  • Never skip bathing or showering.
  • Use a gentle anti bacterial soap.
  • Dry yourself thoroughly - moisture left under your arms and groin can promote the body odour.

Avoid strong smelling foods and eat lots and lots of fruit and vegetables.

Take extra vitamins and minerals and avoid processed foods and alcohol.

Wear natural fabrics like cotton wool and silk. Synthetic fibres do not allow the skin to breathe.

Good Luck!
