Aside from diet, other lifestyle factors have significant effects on fertility. So if you’re planning on having children in the near future, read on for some insight.

Being fertile makes it easy to fall pregnant and carry your baby safely for nine months without any complications.

While the effects of diet and certain types of food on fertility are well documented, there are several lifestyle factors that can impact on your fertility too. We narrow it down to the top 5.

Lighting up

Women who smoke can have difficulty conceiving. In one study, pregnancy rates stood at about 48% for non-smokers, 19% for smokers and 20% for passive smokers – so if you’re trying to fall pregnant, try to steer clear of smokers altogether.
