DVD review: No Strings Attached

Oscar winner Natalie Portman and the delectable Ashton Kutcher pair up in this year's sexiest comedy.

No Strings Attached is an adult comedy about two single friends who decide that they can handle no-strings-attached sex.

She's surer than him

Emma (Portman) is sure that she only wants a friend-with-benefits. Adam (Kutcher) is quite keen to take it further but goes along with Emma because he doesn't want to lose her as a friend - plus the sex is so great!

Ashton Kutcher seems typecast in the adorable, sensitive lost little boy role but he has a such a cute bum (which he seems quite happy to display) that we have to forgive him.

The sex is great but (as in real life) someone starts to feel more

Is is only Adam or does Emma have feelings that she's determined to suppress? And if so, why is she so determined to avoid becoming a 'girlfriend'?

Great comic supporting cast

Kevin Kline plays the famous ratbag dad who steals Adam's ex Vanessa (Ophelia Lovibond), and Greta Gerwig, Mindy Kaling, Chris Bridges (Adam's best mate) and Lake Bell (his devoted co-worker) add to the comic mix.

Romantic and funny but pretty predictable

But that's what we've come from Hollywood, so if you're not banking on Oscar performances, sit back and enjoy a light-hearted comedy (and Ashton's butt)...
