Consol solar jars set the Cape Town Design Indaba alight this past weekend! A finalist in the 2012 Most Beautiful Object in South Africa (MBOISA), the environmentally-friendly jars of light seem to be on everyone's wish list.

The solar jars are made from 1-litre Consol Classic preserve jars and are powered by solar panelling fitted on the lids. The solar panel harnesses the power of the sun and provides lighting that lasts up to six hours!

These versatile solar jars would make attractive patio lighting, rustic wedding décor and could become a camping essential, not to mention how handy they would be during power shortages!

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to get my hands on a bottle of sunshine! To find out more, visit www.consol.co.za
