Safe water heating

In rural areas, people without geysers often heat water on the stove in order to wash. This creates an enormous waste of electricity and is also dangerous if knocked over. A company called Energyheat Solutions has developed a product to fix this problem - known as the Powa Drum.

A mini geyser

The Powa Drum is a 35-litre durable plastic bucket that can be used to heat water to the temperature of 45 degrees. The temperature is maintained by way of a thermostat and if this fails, there is also an automatic switch off at a temperature of 97 degrees. There is an optional shower adapter that you can attach directly to the Powa Drum.

Not only is the Powa Drum a great money saving tool for rural areas, it is also great for those who love camping.
