Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip: an enduring romance

Long before celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, she and Prince Philip celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary in 2007.

This sweet photograph shows them, decades apart, in the same setting and same posture...

The Queen is even wearing the same brooch, same pearls, same location, and the two look at one another with the same affection and respect that has characterised their partnership and helped with the Queen's lengthy, popular and successful reign, which has endured through some turbulent times.

It is comforting to see that while the world around us changes, some things remain steadfast and reliable!

The couple will celebrate 65 years of marriage later this year.
